Make the Technology help you Go Green

There are many things in our day to day life through which we can contribute to Go green.

ATM has become a part of our routine. For sure we will be using it at least one time a day.

There is a option that the robotic money lender tells us  " Do you want a receipt for your transaction ? "

Without even reading this statement completely ....We will give "yes" for whatever question ATM throws to us.

After taking the money and  card out of the machine , we will get a slip.

The slip will find itself in the trash can , the very next moment it comes out.

Please Don't take the slip unless it is very necessary.

This is a simple good deed, which quite a few of us will do that.

It doesn't mean that the others don't know it actually.  It means that the others don't care for it.

The following Induced me to write this post.

when we cleaned our house , the majority of the waste  that we found is this ATM slips.

Thus we decided to create an awareness about it and spread the same.

Follow such simple things that can have a great Impact on the environment.

" Together we can make a difference..." ...Go Green.....

Biggest enemy of today's environment.....

Polluter Land

The photo that is being displayed here is the glimpse of  polluted land near our house at  Mugalivakkam,in Chennai. This is a not a rare pic, you can see this kind of stuff in many parts of  Chennai. Not particular about Chennai, in any part of Tamilnadu we can see this.

In the initial days, I was thinking that , why the water in this area is not getting dried. But when days passed on , I got some time to examine this polluted land. When I started to have a closer look at it, from my terrace. The more things that filled this area is not water or plants or some fillings , Its full of polyethylene bags, that is given for free of costs from every shop that we buy some things.

Even if we make a purchase for Rs 5 or less than that , we are getting it free of cost. Because its cheap. If I get a milk packet(made of plastic) that is given to me covered by a polythene bag(another plastic). This means, the entire world is getting filled with plastics slowly & steadily. The worst thing is that ,we will not use it for more than one time. If we get a banana at night time for 10 Rs , the banana Wala is happily packing it inside the polythene bags & handing it to us. After making our way to home, we eat the fleshy part of the banana and will "neatly pack the skin of banana" inside the polythene bags and will throw it in the street or some waste land..

Guys think about the previous statement that we are packing a Biodegradable waste inside a Non-Biodegradable waste and making the it (banana skin) also as a  Non-Biodegradable waste.  This how the land gets filled and the same has been captured in the above pic.

Recently Government has strictly enforced a law through which , all the bags that are given from branded shops and  some super markets are not given free of cost. This is some thing that can be welcomed. We thank government for enforcing this act strictly. But how far the law has an impact on small petty shops ranging from tea shop to the roadside Banana vendor. We cant wait the government to enforce a law to the road side sellers and petty shop's.

At my home(in Karur) when I went to buy cool drinks to a teashop opposite to my home.As soon I got two half litre bottles the women over there offered me a carry cover(polyethylene bag).I said I can carry it in my hand for the next few steps. Also I said her don't provide bag unless it is asked by the customer.she smiled and nodded her head. The same is the scenario with the road side banana vendor. But the worst thing here is , Even If I advice him not to provide the carry cover to any customer without their request. Everyday when I purchase, he puts it in the carry cover. I will remove the cover and will hand it over back to him. We both do it as a routine.:)

We cant blame them. It is one of our responsibility to protect our environment. We are educated, its our duty to protect the environment by educating others too.

Try avoid buying polyethylene, unless it is very necessary.

Try to reuse it, instead of buying a new one.

Dispose it in to the appropriate dust bin,so that it can be recycled.

Simply to say:

REDUCE....REUSE......&....RECYCLE

If the change needs to be effective, It can not be brought from outside , it needs to come from inside.
